Our beef is exceptional coming from free range & grass fed meat. Our beef is usually classified as fat grade 2 and sometimes even a 3 – which means that they are not overly fatty. However the fat on them is perfect for tallow. With grassfed meat the fat contains a better ratio of essential fatty acids which results in a lower melting temperature and a better, fuller flavour.

Beef tallow (or beef drippings or beef butter) is rendered beef fat. Free range and grass fed beef fat has a distinct creamy yellow colour and a delicious beef flavour. Rendered means it has been gently heated, passed through a sieve and cooled in 500ml sterilized jars. Perfect for cooking potatoes or even to add some depth of flavour to your fried eggs, this is a must have pantry item for anyone interested in cooking. This is perfect for baking a short crust pastry too – especially for beef steak & Guinness pies.
